SKY DIGITAL LAUNCHES SIKH TV

The large population of Sikhs in UK will now enjoy viewing of Sikh TV which has been eagerly awaited by people one and all. The channel would be wholly dedicated to Sikhs and will be loaded with Punjabi content.

It aims to reach the very heart of the Sikh British population by giving them a vision of their very own Punjab. The specialty of the channel would be the shows airing that would be very much of cultural and religious in nature. There is a lot of enthusiasm in the Sikh community post this news of launch.

The Sikh TV channel is going to be a free-to-air service. This would see the removal of Faith World +1 instead of which Sikh TV is to be aired on Sky channel 848.

Sikh Channel and Sangat TV are the other two available Sikh language channels specifically targeted t the Sikh audiences. There was a religious inauguration for the channel taking place in India at the Akal Tak Sahib. This event too was recorded which would be available in highlights on the Sikh TV channel later on. The fact is that the very essence of Punjab should be felt by people watching the channel who would connect with their home land so away from home.

In fact there will also be a telecast of a national Indian game kabaddi on the channel. All this has further enhanced the enthusiasm of the Sikh community. In the mean time this would turn out to be another feather in the cap for Sky which will further get the respect of its many subscribers, the ones from the Sikh community no less.
